Karleen N. Méndez Benítez

Karleen N. Méndez Benítez is an associate in the Litigation Department.  She joined O’Neill & Borges LLC in 2023.

Prior to joining O’Neill & Borges team, Karleen worked as a Judicial Law Clerk for Hon. Maite D. Oronoz Rodríguez, Chief Justice of the Puerto Rico Supreme Court.

Karleen obtained her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.  While in law school, she served as a student judicial clerk to Hon. Judge Daniel R. Domínguez of the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico for a year.  Karleen also served as Associate Director of the University of Puerto Rico Law Review, spokesperson for the pro bono organization “Organización de los Derechos de los Animales”, and Research Assistant to Professor Efrén Rivera Ramos with whom she co-authored the term-analysis article “Derecho Constitucional”, 90 Rev. Jur. U.P.R. 385 (2021).  She also authored the law review article The Meat Industry: A Link between Global Pandemics, Climate Change, and Economic Crisis, 91 Rev. Jur. U.P.R. 47 (2022).

Karleen is a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 2015.
