Jorge A. Candelaria

Jorge A. Candelaria is a Member of the Litigation Department at O’Neill & Borges LLC, where he focuses on intellectual property and data privacy matters, among other areas, in both advisory and dispute-resolution contexts. He represents clients in complex litigation involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and technology-driven disputes, while also providing strategic counsel on privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Jorge regularly advises companies on the protection, commercialization, and enforcement of their intellectual property assets, as well as on compliance with evolving privacy and data protection frameworks. His practice includes managing data breach responses, developing privacy programs, and structuring IP transactions, including licensing and confidentiality arrangements.

A recognized voice in the intersection of law and technology, Jorge holds the CIPP/US credential and serves as Co-Chair of the IAPP Puerto Rico Knowledge Net Chapter. He recently represented the firm at the 2026 International Trademark Association (INTA) Annual Meeting in London, reflecting his active engagement in the global intellectual property community.

Jorge earned his LL.M. from the University of California, Berkeley (Law & Technology Certificate) and his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
