We have a strong and renowned energy practice group with experience in all relevant areas including energy law, utility regulatory compliance, corporate, tax and tax incentives, real estate, finance, environmental, land use and government affairs.  The firm’s energy clients include sustainable renewable (solar and wind), and alternative energy production (waste-to-energy, landfill gas to energy, biomass) technology companies, petroleum-based (upstream to downstream), and distribution companies.  Our multi-disciplinary team provides strategic advice related to federal and Puerto Rico regulatory matters, public affairs, corporate compliance, government affairs, government procurement and contracts, renewable energy and tax incentives.

Our energy team has vast experience in negotiating and obtaining permits, licenses, endorsements and authorizations necessary for the petroleum industry before, among others: the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. National Marine Fishery Service, U.S. Coast Guard, the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board, the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, among others, and assist clients with matters pertaining and under the jurisdiction of the Puerto Rico Consumer Affairs Department.
