Carla García-Benítez

Carla García-Benítez has almost thirty years of experience in the civil litigation arena. She has litigated complex cases involving antitrust issues, construction law claims, dealer’s act issues, insurance law and other types of commercial disputes. In more recent years, however, her practice has been concentrated in three key areas: trademark law, insurance law litigation and tax litigation.

Carla actively supervises the process of obtaining both local and federal trademark registrations. She has also successfully pursued trademark infringers, by both non-judicial and judicial means, usually achieving the clients’ goals without the need of a costly trial. She has represented both insurance companies in complex reinsurance disputes, as well as insurers and insured in policy coverage issues. Moreover, Carla has had over twenty years of experience in working with our Corporate Tax members in defending, at both the administrative and judicial level, tax deficiencies assessed by a various taxing authorities.

Carla has been recommended as a “Leaders in her Field” by Chambers and Partners – Latin America since 2010 and is currently listed in Intellectual Property.
